Enable people who have deeply complex lives to develop confidence in their voice and support them to make informed decisions about their future;
Empower people to set the direction of our work, centred around their needs, hopes and desires, through effective communication, consultation and evaluation;
Create new and relevant work with people which amplifies their voices and enables them to be heard, both in their communities and in the wider world;
Work inclusively and in partnership with people who are from demographics that are underrepresented – individuals who live in socio-economic deprivation, are LGBTQ+IA, neurodiverse, disabled, Black, Asian or Ethnically diverse – to develop creative work that represents them and tells their stories;
Encourage people to consider themselves as global citizens and raise awareness of the issues around climate justice while also ensuring all Valleys Kids programmes are delivered in a sustainable way;
Work collaboratively and in partnership with organisations locally, UK and internationally enabling people to access high quality programmes and projects which are inspirational and life enhancing, broadening their horizons;
Engage with and lead local and national organisations in Wales to develop best practice in play work, youth work, youth and community arts;
Nurture talent and develop career paths with and for early career artists, supporting them to access mentoring from creative industry professionals and build professional networks and providing platforms for professional development and facilitating support from professionals and extending assistive networks;
Inspire and catalyse the creation of new work with older adults and people with complex lives that enables self-expression, social engagement, better confidence and increased self-esteem;
Enable people to connect with themselves, others, the environment and the wider world, educating and enriching through the forging new ideas, understandings and relationships;
Centre and direct our work around the needs and opportunities of local people, through effective communication, consultation and evaluation;
Promote and celebrate the Welsh language by developing high quality bilingual experiences and exploring the use of Welsh as a creative medium in safe, inclusive and positive environments;
Draw upon local and global experiences, news and events to initiate discussion and consideration of global citizenship, climate justice, care of the environment and sustainability;
Promote a hyper-local, socially engaged, trauma informed community development approach as a methodology to mutually benefit people.
