Overview

Our dedicated team helps families cope with a range of issues with the aim being for the whole family to achieve their goals.

Our service primarily provides support to parent carers and their children. The support provided is individual to each family and aims to promote resilience. We are dedicated to working with each family to promote emotional health enabling both parents and children to be resilient in the face of adversity. Parents are supported to learn new skills and strategies to enhance their health, well – being, and development. We provide an opportunity for parent carers to manage their own well – being needs so they can see how awesome they are and help parent carers take care of themselves too, because they often forget about their own needs when they are looking after others.

How we help

A dedicated Family Team lead the programmes of support we offer for families at our centres and in other venues in the most disadvantaged areas of Rhondda Cynon Taff and beyond.

Families

This provision ranges from weekly parenting support and women’s groups, to informal sessions where any member of community can access advice and help, to specialist trauma support for families and individuals facing significant challenges, such as bereavement, domestic violence, behavioural issues and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Our provision for victims of trauma uses recognised national frameworks for support to help beneficiaries identify how trauma has impacted on their lives, gain the tools to manage these impacts and heal, and to develop new confidence and positive peer networks.
