COVID 19 Crisis – Valleys Kids’ response

May 8th, 2020

These are extraordinary times. The Coronavirus crisis has followed hot on the heels of devastating flooding in our communities. People had no time to recover their homes and their normal lives, when the lockdown was imposed, with the terrible threat of losing loved ones added to an already intolerable situation.

All news….

Community is kindness

“Although the world is full of suffering. It is also full of the overcoming of it.”

6,000 meals given to vulnerable children since April 2020

Since 6th April, we’ve been donating over 1,000 free meals each week to vulnerable children in the Rhondda Valley who normally rely on free school meals but there are still children who need our support.

Please help us deliver more food parcels by donating.

Supporting the most isolated in the community

The most isolated and vulnerable families are being cut off even more from their communities as a result of the lockdown. We’ve been continuing our support of 3,000 vulnerable people every week.

Delivering medicines, collecting shopping, and being a support network, we’ve reached out to older people and anybody else in the community who might need our help.

Before Covid-19, we were supporting vulnerable young people across the Rhondda Valley and they need our help now more than ever.

While they can’t visit one of our community hubs, to keep them connected we’re running virtual groups online giving them an opportunity to talk to the friends they’ve made at our hubs and we’re sending out play packs to keep the younger children entertained at home.

Help us keep these services running by donating  to this work.
