The income we reached last year was over £2 million. Many people supported our work with regular donations and one-off gifts. Major Trusts such as the Henry Smith Charity, BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief support us. Companies also contributed with money and work in kind. We would not have achieved our continued success without their contribution. Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council support remains crucial for our work and the Welsh Assembly Government funding via Communities First is also essential if we are to tackle the causes of poverty in some of the most deprived communities in Europe.
The majority of our expenditure, 94% is spent in our Community and Family Hubs. These are based in some of the most disadvantaged areas in South Wales and the support we provide makes a real difference to the children and families in those areas. In the end these figures translate into services and activities for individuals whose lives are transformed by the support offered by our staff and volunteers.
The money we spend is only part of the answer. It only provides a framework of support for people to solve the problems themselves.
