Volunteer Success with MSD

Womens Health2In the past two weeks two amazing teams from MSD have given up their days to brighten up the Penyrenglyn Project.

The first group comprised of around 12 people from the Women's Health Team.  See the picture to the left

The second group were bigger in number and equally if mot more keen to 'get stuck in".  The Established Brands team barely stopped for their well earned Fish and Chip lunch :-)

During the course of the two days the teams planted a memory garden for a long life friend of the project who will have her ashes scattered there next week.  The planted some beautiful plants and bushes as well as cementing a fence and bench for other members of the project to have some quite 1-2-1 reflection time with the staff.

The Womens’ Health team also brightened up the inside on the building painting the main hall, the foyer and the down stairs cwtch.

Establish Brands smallThe sun was still shining for the Established brands team so they focused on the pre school fence as well as coating the decking which made for some really amusing moments.

We hope to continue to develop our relationship with the MSD team as they are a wonderful group of people who went to extreme lengths to help a community in need of a bit of TLC.  We hugely appreciate their efforts and the commitments some travelling all the way from Manchester and Brighton to be part of the Volunteer experience.  Valleys Kids would also like to thank Ed Smith for all his efforts of pulling it together along with Manjit Aujla and Chris Ponty for their belief in our work.

Can't wait for the next visit guys.
