Read more about I Wish
The ArtWorks team are delighted to invite you to another stunning performance at the Soar Centre in Penygraig.
The Penygraig Youth Theatre present their spectacular new play ‘I Wish’ devised by the group and written and directed by Miranda Ballin, assisted by Ian McAndrew and Maxine Ridge. This is a funny contemporary love story with a mysterious twist to its tale.
Caitlin’s favourite word seems to be ‘I dunno’ but her friend Rob isn’t buying it. He is convinced that there is more to Caitlin than meets the eye. What he doesn’t bargain for is an encounter with a Genie, complications in his love life and an adventure into the unknown – all of which seem to point towards the age old adage be careful what you wish for!
Part mayhem and part A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, this is a world where dreams and science collide – you have been warned!
The performance is at the Soar Centre, Penygraig Roundabout, CF40 1JZ on Friday 23rd July 2010 at 7pm. Tickets will be £2 and 50p for children. Please contact a member of the ArtWorks team at 01443 420870 to book tickets

Theatr Powys – Scarecrow
Friday 12 February 2010:
ArtWorks Present Theatr Powys latest production - Scarecrow by Chris Cooper.
Read more about Theatr Powys – Scarecrow
ArtWorks are delighted to be hosting Theatr Powys, with another fantastic play from playwright Chris Cooper. We had an amazing response to the company’s remarkable piece of theatre ‘Hand in Hand’ last year with outstanding performances from this highly skilled company.
This year’s production is equally compelling:
So much was coming in. Through TV and radio, down the Internet, and in stacked up papers that no one else bothered to read. Too much. Too much information. Wynne had to get out of the house; get some space. Go to their place, still, safe, quiet, theirs….
...that is until the Scarecrow came to life. Disconcerting and highly unlikely, yes but undeniably true and something for Wynne and her mates to deal with.
Set in the midst of rural mid Wales rural, Scarecrow tells the story of a young girl who wants to name what she sees and know what she senses.
This is a story about place and purpose, community, identity and difference.
A passionate, humorous, and intensely human play for children and their families.
Theatr Powys will be performing at the Soar Centre on Friday February 12th at 7pm. Tickets are £3 and £2 and this is an opportunity not to be missed. Contact the ArtWorks team to book tickets on 01443 420870.
