It is increasingly challenging for many of the families we work with to make ends meet. The  cost of food and energy is rising but wages are not keeping pace. Unemployment is high and feeding and clothing growing children on benefits is not easy. Many of the families who live in Dinas can no longer afford to stay because they live in 3 bedroomed properties and the imposition of financial penalties makes it impossible to remain.  In partnership with RCT Homes, the social landlord and with Fair Shares, Valleys Kids are piloting a Food Parcel scheme for local residents. For a small weekly charge, they have a supply of the basics to help feed the family.
