Valleys Kids is delighted to be one of the Community Enterprise Network delivery agents and operates the services at the Factory in Porth.
The Community Enterprise Network is a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF Community Economic Development project Priority 5 Theme 2) initiative, which aims to forge an enterprising culture and raise prosperity amongst communities in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff.
The Community Enterprise Network in The Factory is somewhere in your local community where you can go to talk and share ideas about shaping your future, using what you are good at or feel passionately about.
Recognising what comes easy to you, and turning those skills to your advantage, gives you the power to thrive.
You could make such a difference to your local community and even set up a social enterprise.
It’s easy to succeed when you start with something you’re good at.
The focus is on igniting the spark of entrepreneurial spirit using a three-pronged approach:
1. Primarily the project explores the wealth of under-used skills and talents in the valleys, encouraging people to proactively explore possibilities that will benefit them and their local communities.
2. Secondly, the project helps people and social enterprises by engaging them in active citizenship by fostering a sense of community through network membership and sharing best practice.
3. Lastly, the project links people and enterprises with the wealth of specialist resources available, raising awareness, creating a sustainable enterprise culture and contributing to long term change.
For more information on the project go to www.communityenterprisenetwork.org and visit The Factory, Jenkin Street, Porth, CF39 9PP to participate.
