What Happened
Dingle Scramble @ Llangorse Multi-Activity Centre
Tuesday, August 11, 2009
Nathan and Nicola, along with a bunch of excited and enthusiastic children from After School and Middle Club, donned their old clothes and wellingtons for a wet and wild trip to Llangorse Multi-Activity Centre in the stunning surroundings of the Brecon Beacons.
After an energy-boosting Picnic on the grass in the blazing sunshine, the group were led by their three Instructors to the start of the infamous 'Dingle Scramble': the mouth of a stream that led 600 feet upwards to the top of the mountain!
What followed were a series of obstacles and challenges involving leaping into ice-cold pools, crawling through mud pits, scaling rock-faces, dodging fallen trees and sliding down tunnels until we reached the top...only to turn around and do it all again on the way back down!
A fantastic afternoon was had by all. We overcame fears, learnt new skills and conquered challenge after challenge alone and as a team. After a rinse-down and change into our dry and warm clothes we left Llangorse feeling like we could take on the World...but not before we finished the rest of our sandwiches!
