Flight wings

Designed for young people of all abilities in the Valleys who have an interest in the arts. The project consists of 3 areas;

                           Training and Placements

                           Mentoring and Support

                           Creative Projects

You may like to get involved with the existing ArtWorks projects creatively as a volunteer, helping on productions with sound and lighting, costume, set design or working with children and this can be arranged through Flight Wings. Alternatively we also work with students from colleges and universities and offer more structured placements.

We offer mentoring and support, including preparation for interviews and auditions, CV writing and assistance with college work, with helping careers advice and support.

Our creative projects are peer led, where you will have the opportunity to contribute your own creative ideas and work in an environment where together as a team you can work with the support of professional art workers who provide essential materials and ongoing support. The project may lead to a public performance in a professional venue with technical support.

We are also committed to providing training opportunities within the creative industries, and have regular training days open to young people who are part of the Flight Wings project. More recently, we ran a training day on film-making, which brought together 13 young people who gained new skills in film-making, working with a professional company they had a great day, and a chance to meet new people. This August, we will hold another day, where the training is focused on editing for film,  all young people with an interest are welcome to attend.
