Valleys Kids is a charity based in South Wales with a 33-year track record of working with disadvantaged children and families.

Our work is about changing lives for the better. These Valleys now rank in some of the most deprived areas of Europe. Valleys Kids works alongside local people to improve the lives of children and families in these communities, helping people to help themselves.

The Need

11%, that's 12,000, young people in Wales aged between 16 and 18 years are not engaged in education, training or employment.

Rhondda Cynon Taff has the worst record in Wales of children between 13 - 16 years regularly drinking – 26% of boys and 13% of girls (12% higher than the UK average).

National Audit of Drug Misuse in Britain showed a sharp increase in use of drugs in under 18's – 40% of boy and girls experimenting of which 50% were current users.
