Monday 12th December, 5pm, Soar Centre, Penygraig.

Ten-year-old Sophie is in for the adventure of a lifetime when she meets the Big Friendly Giant. Naturally scared at first, the young girl soon realizes that the 24-foot behemoth is actually quite gentle and charming. As their friendship grows, Sophie’s presence attracts the unwanted attention of Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater and other giants. After traveling to London, Sophie and the BFG must convince Queen Elizabeth to help them get rid of all the bad giants once and for all.

Join us for our last event of the season which is certain to leave you feeling all warm and Christmassy.

The Little Match Seller

lms-poster-finalwebArtworks would like to invite you to the first production by our Penygraig Drama Workshop. These children are aged 8 – 12 and their commitment, passion and dedication to their show is admirable. They have been working tirelessly with their support worker Caroline Bunce to bring you their take on Hans Christian Anderson ‘the LIttle Match Seller’

The performance takes us on a journey of a little girl who is sent out into the freezing cold nights to sell her tapers. She freezes near to death for fear of the punishment should she go home with no money for the family.  One night her beloved Nana appears from the stars and we see the little match seller find her happy place once more.

We would love to show you our story so please join us in Soar Centre at 7pm on Saturday 29th October. We will be serving refreshments after the show and holding a raffle to support the development of ArtWorks and Valleys Kids.

To book your free tickets in advance or to donate a raffle prize please contact Emma@valleyskids.org or call us on 01443 303032

We look forward to seeing you and showing off our stars.

Kevin Sinnott – ‘The Post Office Years’ Exhibition

factory-kevin-sinnott-postersmlArt in the Attic present a world premier of work by renowned Welsh artist, Kevin Sinnott, premiering at The Factory

3rd – 28th October  Monday to  Friday 10am – 4pm

“My current show at the Factory consists mainly of 26 drawings that have never been exhibited before, executed during the years I worked as a post man in London.

This was almost immediately I had graduated from RCA when I decided bizarrely that a job as a postman would give me my afternoons to paint and the finance to rent a studio in Stepney Green.

What initially I thought would be 6 months stretched into 5yrs!!!”  Kevin Sinnott
